1 Occupant Safely Removed from Suffolk Blaze, No Injuries
Suffolk Fire and Rescue were dispatched to a structure fire in the 110 block of Chestnut Street in downtown Suffolk on November 4, 2011. The report of fire to the single family residence was received at 12:36 p.m. Market Street is currently closed to thru traffic from Pine Street to North Street.T he single family home was fully engulfed upon arrival of Suffolk Fire and Rescue, who quickly brought the fire under control. One occupant was safely removed from the house, and no injuries were reported. The Fire Marshal's Office is investigating. UPDATE: Market Street has reopened to thru traffic.
