Ventura City Fire units responded to investigate a report of smoke in the area and a fire alarm sounding near Thille and Portola streets on December 3, 2011.

First arriving units discovered a fire in a three-story condo unit and initiated a coordinated attack. Aggressive actions by firefighters helped to quickly extinguish the fire and keep it confined to the condo where it was discovered.

Two adjacent units were protected and only sustained minor smoke exposure. The condo involved in the fire was unoccupied at the time. No injuries were reported.

The cause is under investigation and damage is estimated to be in excess of $100,000 including the contents.
