On September 22, 2011, Fire Marshals from the City of Manassas Fire and Rescue Department filed a juvenile petition and obtained a detention order for a third juvenile responsible for igniting a brush fire that occurred on August 10th, 2011 in the Old Town Station neighborhood in the City of Manassas.

On Wednesday August 10, 2011, firefighters responded to a fire involving approximately 3,000 square feet of landscaping in the Old Town Station townhouse community.

The fire damaged $5,500 worth of large evergreen trees and shrubs that were part of the community's common area used for picnics and barbeques.

One resident sprayed water from a garden hose onto the side of his townhouse to prevent the fire from spreading.

Fire Marshals arrested the third juvenile at his home without incident.  He is charged with burning or destroying personal property greater than $200 (Virginia Code – 18.2-81 Class 4 Felony).

The other two juveniles were arrested on August 12, 2011.

A court date is set for mid-October for all three juveniles.
