The Fire Department would like to remind you to take some basic steps to help keep you and your family safe in case of fire. 1) Make sure you have working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in your residence; 2) Develop and practice your emergency escape plan with your family. Make sure everyone is familiar with the plan and knows the meeting place once they get outside; 3) when the alarm sounds, get out and stay out; 4) conduct a home safety survey to identify common causes of fire in your homes and correct any issues that you find. If you have questions regarding your home safety or are in need of assistance in obtaining smoke alarms, please contact the El Paso Fire Department Fire Prevention Division at 915-485-5699.
