7 Pennsylvania Children Perish in Farmhouse Blaze
March 9, 2011 Only one child has survived the fatal farmhouse fire that occurred last night in Blain, Pennsylvania. Seven children, ranging from seven months to eleven years old, perished in the blaze. Sometime after 10:00 p.m. last night, the mother of the children was in the barn milking cows, while the father was out on his regular milk route and decided to pull over to take a nap. The surviving three year old child ran to the barn to alert his mother, Janelle Clouse, of the fire. Once receiving news of the blaze, the children's father, Theodore Clouse, came rushing home. The cause of death of the seven children was determined to be smoke inhalation. It was reported that the fire may have began in the kitchen of the home, where the family used a propane heater.
