Air Force Firefighter Killed

Airman First Class Derek Kozorosky, a 22 year old Air Force Firefighter, died on February 11, 2011 following a vehicle accident.  According to the U.S. Fire Administration, the incident occurred at 1800 hours at the Kadena Air Base in Japan, and officials are not releasing details due to an open investigation.

Kozorosky is reported to have perished at the Camp Lester Naval Hospital following the accident.  He was a part of the 18th Civil Engineering Squadron led by Brig. General Ken Wilsbach.

Airman First Class Kozorosky was the son of David and Liza Kozorosky of Ebensburg, Pennslyvania, and graduated from Bishop Carroll High School, according to The Tribune-Democrat.

Funeral arrangements and memorial contribution information for the fallen airman have not been announced.
