Arlington Flooding Prompts Fire Department Rescues
The remnants of tropical storm Hermine have caused flooding in many areas of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. One of the worst hit areas was Arlington, Texas. Firefighters with Arlington Fire-Rescue stretched a ladder to a rooftop of The Willows Apartments to rescue residents from rising floodwaters from a nearby creek. Northwest Highway, a major roadway in Dallas, was closed near White Rock Lake because of flooding. According to the National Weather Service, the storm will continues to bring heavy rain to the area. A flash flood watch will remain in effect until Thursday morning when skies are expected to clear. Author:Barbara Brooks - Fire Department Network News
