Automated Phone Notification System Alerts Citizens to Emergency Evacuations

Many emergency communication centers across the United States are beginning to use a new mass notification system that makes automated phone calls to alert citizens to evacuations in their area. This system is capable of calling hundreds of thousands of land lines and cell phone numbers each hour, giving residents the information they need in an emergency evacuation situation.
