Bull Fire Grows Overnight
The Bull Fire continues to burn near Kernville, California. As of 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, the fire has consumed more than 5,000 acres and is 5% contained, according to the Kern County Fire Department (KCFD). Monday night, firefighters were able to save structures in Kernville but reports show six residences in the area of Riverkern were destroyed. Crews continue to provide structure protection in both areas. There are approximately 500 personnel from KCFD, the U.S. Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management on scene with many more crews from other parts of the state en route. According to the KCFD, 14 helicopters and eight airtankers will be assisting firefighters on the ground today. There have been no injuries reported.
