CAL FIRE Crews Fighting Buckeye Fire
CAL FIRE firefighters in Humboldt County, California are battling the Buckeye Fire. The wildfire began on September 6th on Buckeye Mountain near Petrolia, and has burned 700 acres, according to the CAL FIRE Humboldt-Del Norte Unit. The fire is 5% contained, and according to CAL FIRE, one residence has been destroyed. As of Wednesday morning, evacuations were in effect in the Conklin Creek and Rainbow Ridge 1 areas, as 50 structures were being threatened. 183 firefighting personnel are battling the Buckeye Fire, with twelve engines, three water tenders, and two CAL FIRE dozers.
