Cardiac Arrest Save Patient Visits With His Rescuers in Laconia
On July 29, 2011, a man walking on the WOW trail went into sudden cardiac arrest.  Two woman walking on the trail stopped to help.  While one administered CPR the other went to guide the ambulance to the scene. 

The LFD ambulance was in the area of the incidents and responded immediately.  As a result of of their actions the victim survived and made a full recovery and will return to his job as a professor of philosophy.

On December 8, 2011, the victim and his family met his female rescuer and members of the Laconia Fire Department to thank them for their help during his time of need.

A new partnership has been formed between the University of California San Diego, CAL FIRE, and San Diego County that is helping CAL FIRE/San Diego County FIre Authority to monitor the rural areas of San Diego, California for wildfires. The project, known as FireSite, is using webcams to show firefighters, Incident Commanders and dispatchers a real time, 360 degree view of areas that were previously difficult to view.
