Central Fire District Reopens Station #4
As of August 13, 2011, Central Fire District has officially reopened station number four in Capitola, California. The station had been severely damaged during the flood that occurred in March of this year. After extensive cleaning and remodeling, firefighters can take up residence at station four once again. Since the food damaged building was vacated, the Live Oak fire station has been housing the displaced crews. The station 4 crew had still been responding to emergencies, in the Capitola area, during this time with a slight increase in their response time, but no decrease in service. To celebrate the station reopening, an open house will be held on Wednesday, August 24th from 5:00 – 7:00PM. The station will be open to the public for tours and refreshments will be served.
