Chino Hills Brush Fire 50% Contained
A brush fire in Chino HIlls, California is 50 percent contained as of 10 a.m. Sunday morning, according to CAL Fire officials. Approximately 150 firefighters from CAL FIRE and the Chino Valley Fire Protection District are battling the fire, which began Saturday at 5 p.m. and has burned 65 acres. Orange County Fire Authority firefighters provided assistance with firefighting efforts on Saturday evening. The fire has burned brush along Highway 71, near a golf course and a shooting range. The highway was initially closed to enable firefighters to battle the blaze, but was partially reopened Saturday evening. No injuries have been reported, and the cause is under investigation. CAL FIRE officials predict that the brush fire will be fully contained by 6 p.m. this evening. Author:Karen Batista - Fire Department Network News
