The City of Knoxville has just purchased three new fire trucks from Ferrara Fire Apparatus, America's premier custom fire apparatus manufacturer. The Knoxville Fire Department has used Ferrara trucks since 2003 and currently has fourteen of them in their fleet. The new trucks, two custom pumpers and a 77' aerial ladder, will all be built on Ferrara's successful Igniter heavy duty custom chassis.

Chris Ferrara, company President and CEO, acknowledged the Knoxville order saying, "Our thanks go out to the City of Knoxville and Knoxville Fire Department. It's always gratifying to see a large order such as this; even more so when it's repeat business from one of our high profile departments.

Knoxville Fire Department employees over 300 full time fire-rescue professionals and operates eighteen fire stations that protect the city's 175,000 residents and businesses, including the University of Tennessee.

Ferrara Fire Apparatus manufacturers a full line of fire and emergency vehicles, including their Inferno, Igniter, Ember and Intruder 2 custom chassis, pumpers and tankers, rear and mid-mount aerial ladders and platforms, rescue and incident command vehicles, Inundator foam pumpers, airport vehicles and the Strong Arm fire rescue vehicle.
