The Clark County Fire Department is teaming up with the Southern Nevada Firefighter Burn Foundation to support the nonprofit group's annual holiday toy drive for local children.

The toy drive starts on the day after Thanksgiving on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, and will continue through Sunday, Dec. 18. Residents are welcomed to donate unwrapped toys at any local Clark County Fire Station during business hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week, throughout the donation period. A list of Clark County fire stations is posted on the Fire Department's website pages. Last year 17,000 toys were collected during the toy drive and distributed to children through local government agencies and charities, including the Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Clubs, and Southern Nevada Chapter of the American Red Cross.

"Our Fire Department's participation in the toy drive has grown over the years from fire stations adopting individual families during the holidays to teaming up with the Burn Foundation for a much wider community effort involving many local charitable organizations," said Clark County Fire Chief Bertral Washington. "The donation drive's busiest donation sites are outside stores, so over the next few weekends you'll see a lot of our personnel volunteering their time so they can collect toys directly from donors who are out and about doing their holiday shopping."

The Burn Foundation has organized "Fill the Fire Truck" donation events outside several local Walmart stores over three weekends in December. Volunteers from fire departments in each jurisdiction, including Clark County, Henderson, North Las Vegas and Las Vegas, will staff each event.  The schedule and store locations are as follows:
