Condominium Fire in Virginia Intentionally Set
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department fire investigators charged Lavina Herbert, 38, 3853 Tiburon Place, Alexandria, with the burning of an occupied building, (Virginia Code 18.2-77), and animal cruelty (Virginia Code 3.2-6570), Saturday, March 26, 2011. The charges are in connection to a condominium fire at 3853 Tiburon Place in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County, at approximately 4:35 p.m., March 25, 2011. A canine perished in the fire, and displaced four adults. Fire damage was primarily contained to the top floor of the unit. The fire caused an estimated $35,000 in damage.
