Congressional Panel Examines Station Fire

A congressional panel met Tuesday in Pasadena, California to hear testimony from U.S. Forest Service officials and retired firefighters on what firefighters could have done differently to stop last year's deadly Station Fire.

The panel of five members of congress heard testimony from 11 people including officials with the Forest Service who stated that cost savings had nothing to do with the delay in deployment of air resources over the fire.

The Station Fire, the largest in Los Angeles County's history, killed two firefighters, burned 250 square miles and destroyed more than 200 structures which included 89 homes.
