CAL FIRE San Diego Fire Authority Prevents Spread of Cowboy Fire Overnight
Firefighters from CAL FIRE San Diego Fire Authority continue to battle the Cowboy Fire in San Diego County, California. Located between the communities of Campo and Potrero, this fire began September 2, 2010 and has burned approximately 719 acres. The wildfire was 15% contained as of 5:00 a.m. this morning, according to a CAL FIRE San Diego Fire Authority news release. Firefighters worked through the night in steep terrain and heavy brush to fight the fire, and were successful at keeping the fire from spreading. CAL FIRE expects increased containment throughout the day. No closures are in effect, and no structures have been damaged.
