Des Plaines City Employees & Firemen Support Salvation Army Angel Tree Program
City of Des Plaines employees recently conducted the annual holiday "Angel Tree" Program providing clothing, toys and other specified "holiday wish list" items to those in need in the area. The Angel Tree Program is held in cooperation with The Salvation Army and has become a tradition among City employees, including members of the Des Plaines Professional Firefighter Association Local 4211. Employee participation in this program resulted in forty children receiving gifts. In addition to The Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program, the City also participates in the Adopt-A- Family Program and the Mitten Tree Project. Des Plaines Salvation Army Lieutenant Martinez noted that this December 2300 children and 600 families from 5 areas will be recipients of the holiday gifts. New unwrapped toys are still needed. Wrapping paper, too. Call The Salvation Army for more information: 847-847-9111 (ext. 106) or email. Author:Des Plaines, Illinois Press Release
