Eastside Las Vegas House Fire Ruled Arson
A house on the city's eastside burned late Sunday night. Las Vegas Fire Investigators believe the fire was intentionally set. There were no reported injuries during the incident. Fire dispatchers received several calls at 11:21 p.m. that a house at 1809 Linden Avenue (Bruce/Bonanza) was on fire. When firefighters arrived heavy flames were visible from a one story-concrete block house. It took firefighters less than ten minutes to bring the fire under control. Their first objective was to make sure the fire did not extend to neighboring homes. No other homes were damaged. The fire gutted the interior of the house, which neighbors say has been vacant for over eight months. Damage is estimated at $65,000,. Neighbors told fire investigators that someone has been staying in the house for the past several months. Fire investigators found evidence that a homeless person was staying in the house. Fire investigators believe the fire was intentional set outside the home and it extended into the interior of the house. The fire is under investigation. Author:Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Press Release
