After returning from the Schultz Fire and Flagstaff Floods, Eric Neitzel, a National Public information Officer with the Show Low, Arizona Fire Department, found his vehicle broken into and thousands of dollars of equipment missing.

According to Neitzel, in the late hours of August 2 or early hours of August 3, a thief broke into his vehicle at W. Nikolaus and W. Oliver Streets in the Park Place Subdivision of Show Low, Arizona.  The perpetrator took Neitzel's Dell Latitude D620 laptop and laptop bag.

Neitzel used the laptop for his work as a National PIO on large wildfires and other incidents across the United States, and contained valuable data.  In a post on Fireground.com, Neitzel said the laptop bag contained USB and firewire cables, an HD Microsoft webcam, a Garmin GPS unit, several memory sticks and external hard drives, Streamlight headlamp flashlights, documents from the Flagstaff Floods and Schultz Fire, miscellaneous computer programs on DVD, and several personal items.

Next to Neitzel's car, police found a mixed CD labeled "To Billy From Christy" inside a Red Hot Chili Peppers "Stadium Arcadium" CD Sleeve and an Arizona Lottery Ticket.

If you have any information on this theft, please contact Show Low Police at 928-537-2000 or PIO Neitzel at 928-251-0006.  Click here for photographs of the missing laptop and evidence found near the vehicle.
