Firefighters Struck By Responding Captain
Two Fairfax County, Virginia firefighters on the scene of an accident in Herndon involving a bicycle and a car Tuesday night were struck themselves by an EMS supervisor, according to WUSA-TV. Fairfax county Fire & Rescue Department spokesman Dan Schmidt told Channel 9 a captain was driving an SUV, responding to the crash as EMS 401. The vehicle was reported to be moving through the area slowly at the time of the accident, according to Schmidt. One firefighter and the cyclist were flown by helicopter to Inova Fairfax Hospital while the other firefighter was transported to Reston Hospital Center. Both firefighters have been treated and released but there is no information on the condition of the cyclist, according to the station. Author:Barbara Brooks - FDNNTV.com
