Fire Causes $250,000 Damage to 8-Unit Madison Complex
Several condos of an 8-unit 2-story complex sustained fire damage at 1132 Morraine View Drive, on Friday, December 9, 2011 shortly before 2:00 pm. Smoke was showing from the eves and fire was visible from a second story window. An interior attack was initiated by the first arriving units. Due to the size of the complex, a second alarm was dispatched, summoning additional units. The fire extended to the attic area, which had a fire stop, limiting damage to more apartments. Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupants. Madison Metro and Madison Police also assisted at the scene. One firefighter was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital with minor injuries. The fire is under investigation, with an estimated damage of $250,000. Author:City of Madison Fire Department Press Release
