Fire Damages Vacant Home in El Paso
Thirteen units with the El Paso Fire Department responded to a condition 3 structure fire Tuesday night in the Cedar Grove area of El Paso, Texas. Firefighters arrived in the 200 block of Barker Road to find heavy smoke and flames coming from a two-story vacant home, according to a news release from the department. It took firefighters approximately 20 minutes to extinguish the fire. At one point, crews protected Cedar Grove Elementary School, which was located near the fire. According to fire officials, no injuries were reported but the fire caused significant damage to the home with a damage estimate of about $45,000. Fire crews stayed on scene to monitor the home for any flare ups. Fire Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire. Author:Barbara Brooks - Fire Department Network News
