Fire Outside Downtown Las Vegas Hotel Causes Little Damage
Las Vegas firefighters responded to the Lady Luck Hotel at 206 N. Third St. at 6:48 p.m. after someone smelled smoke in the building on November 17, 2011. Firefighters arrived quickly on scene and found that a piece of wood on a scaffold unit outside on the second floor caught fire. The scaffold was placed too close to an outside light and heat from that light caused the wood to catch fire and a small area around the light unit. Firefighters had the fire out in a couple of minutes. Damage was confined to the outside of the building and the light unit, damage was estimated at $500. The fire was accidental. Only a security person was on the property at the time of the fire. The building is currently vacant during a renovation. There were no injuries in connection with the incident.
