Fire Trucks Plus Employees Assist Rancho & Ontario Fire Departments with Grass Fire
Located on the Ontario-Rancho Cucamonga border in California, Fire Trucks Plus is known for building and refurbishing fire apparatus on a daily basis. However, on Wednesday, May 4th, 2011, employees of the company were the ones doing the firefighting. While closing up their shop for the day, three remaining fire truck mechanics noticed smoke outside. They soon realized that there was a grass fire in the field behind the company's building. Jesse Escamilla, Robin Hood and Salvador Santos, all Fire Trucks Plus employees, quickly grabbed water hoses to fight the fire. Also assisting was owner of Fire Trucks Plus, Paul Batista Sr. and his son, Paul Batista Jr., who came to the field with one of their fire trucks. Shortly after 2:52 p.m., the Rancho Cucamonga & Ontario Fire Departments arrived and fully extinguished the approximately 4 acre blaze by 4:00 p.m. Even more shocking to Fire Trucks Plus employees was that a burned body was found in a shed near the area, turning this incident into a homicide investigation. According to the Press-Enterprise, the body found is likely to be that of a male. The age and identity of this person has yet to be determined. The cause of this incident is currently being investigated by local fire investigators and homicide detectives. Author:Renee Marquart - Fire Department Network News
