Henry County Fire Department to Host Spring Arson Seminar
The Georgia Investigator's Association and Henry County Fire Department will host the 2010 Spring Arson Seminar March 23rd thru March 26th at the Heritage Recreation Center at 97 Lake Dow Road in McDonough. Investigators from all over the state of Georgia are expected to attend this seminar. Participants will hear the latest information on the following topics: Corrugated Stainless Steel Fires,NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 921 Update, Lithium Battery Fires, Gas Supply Systems, Large Case File Management, Ethics, Using Computers in Prosecuting Cases, and Legal issues associated with Arson Cases. The instruction will be led by a panel of highly qualified, experienced instructors. The GFIA Spring Seminar found its way back to Henry County for the third time via an offer to host made by Henry County Fire Marshal, Chief Joe Kelley, at the Southeastern Seminar held in Savannah earlier last year. Chief Kelly said "We just mentioned the interests we had in hosting the seminar." He said after the request to host was made, there was a vote by the GFIA board, and the Spring Seminar host department was once again awarded to Henry County Fire Department. Chief Kelley also stated that he was advised that the first seminar held in Henry County in March of 2006, ranked the second largest of the past Spring Seminars, with one hundred and five registered participants.
