Hess Corporation Donates to Chesapeake Fire Department's Technical Rescue Team
The Hess Corporation donated $1500 to the Chesapeake Fire Department’s Technical Rescue Team on December 7, 2011. Mr. Bob Wolfe, Terminal Supervisor, presented a check to Captain Scott Saunders, Rescue Team Leader, at the Hess Terminals on Buell Street. “I count on the Chesapeake Fire Department’s Rescue Team every day for their confined space rescue abilities whenever we enter a tank’ said Mr. Wolfe. “This donation is our Company’s social responsibility to the community and to those dedicated to protecting it.” “We are very grateful for this generous donation”, stated Captain Saunders, “During these tight economic times, we appreciate the support from the community more than ever.” This donation will be used to provide technical rescue training and equipment for the Team. The Chesapeake Fire Department has several specialty teams that support the community with specialized training and equipment. These include Technical Rescue, Hazardous Materials, Flammable Liquids (Foam), and Marine Teams. The Hess Corporation is a global energy company engaged in the exploration for and production of crude oil and natural gas, as well as in refining and marketing refined petroleum products, natural gas and electricity. Hess operates a petroleum storage site in northern Chesapeake. Author:Chesapeake Fire Department Press Release
