Homeowner Rescued from Burning Tulsa Home

Firefighters in Tulsa, Oklahoma responded to 5970 E. 27th Place after a third party called in a possible house fire. The crew from Ladder 22 forced the door on the 1500 sq ft single story home.

While searching the house, Firefighter Clayton Newell found the home owner, on the kitchen floor next to his wheel chair. Clayton Newell with the help of his crew lifted him back into the wheelchair and removed the homeowner from the house. Crews extinguished the fire, confining the fire to the room of origin.

The homeowner was evaluated and transported to St. Francis in stable condition.    

Chief Michael Atchison praised the crews from Ladder 22, Squad 22, Engine 21, Engine 25, and Ladder 23 for their quick search and aggressive interior fire attack which saved the life of the homeowner and limited the damage to the structure. Damage was estimated at $15,000.
