Full Story	December 27, 2009 Eric Botkin, a firefighter paramedic with the City of Riverside Fire Department, passed away at his Temecula home after battling glioblastoma multiforme, a form of brain cancer, surrounded by family and friends including his wife Hallie and son Hunter 10. Firefighter Botkin was diagnosed in October of 2007 and retired from the fire department on October 30, 2008. For the past two years Eric remained upbeat and was an inspiration to all. He died on December 27, 2009. Funeral arrangements: Services will be held at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 4268 Lime Street, Riverside California on January 6th, 11:00 a.m. There will be a reception immediately following the ceremony at Grove Community Church; 19900 Grove Community, Riverside, CA 92508. Memorial fund: In lieu of flowers, the Botkin family is requesting donations be made to the Eric Botkin Memorial Fund. This benevolent fund will provide assistance to City of Riverside Fire Department families experiencing hardships due to serious line-of-duty injuries or illnesses.
