Matthew Douglas Tramel

Matthew Douglas Tramel, a volunteer firefighter with the Town of Pembroke Fire Department, was responding to a reported car fire when he lost control of his personal vehicle and struck a tree.  The North Carolina Highway Patrol reported that wet road conditions and speed were contributing factors to the accident, and seat belts were operational but not in use at the time of the accident.

A memorial service for Firefighter Tramel will be held Monday, June 8, 2009 at 1600 hours at Purnell Swett High School at Deep Branch Road and Recreation Center Road.  Memorial fund information is pending.
