Los Angeles Fire Department Responds To Incidents Following Lakers Victory
Following the victory of the Los Angeles Lakers in the seventh game of the NBA Finals at the Staples Center, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to 37 incidents within a 1/2 mile area of the game, according to Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the LAFD. 68 firefighters were deployed to the area for a Special Event Standby in anticipation for the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. The incidents the LAFD responded to included 15 rubbish fires, one vegetation fire, three vehicle fires and 18 medical aid requests for persons ill or injured, according to Humphrey. Eight people were transported by fire department ambulance to area hospitals. According to Humphrey, the Los Angeles Police Department continues to investigate the lawless behavior of some celebrants following the game. Author:Barbara Brooks - Fire Department Network News
