The Mt Angel Fire District (MAFD) has recently received a generous grant from Williams Northwest Pipeline in the amount of $1,000.00 for the purchase of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).

MAFD Fire Chief Don Fleck has installed the AED at the Mt Angel Senior Center. This location serves the downtown area exceptionally well as it is in close proximity to City Hall, the Post Office, restaurants, and stores.

Williams Northwest Pipeline's generosity is very much appreciated not only by the Fire District, but the community as a whole. These AED's have demonstrated time and again to save lives.

It is through grants like this that MAFD has been able to strategical place these devices throughout Mt Angel. MAFD not only carries AEDs on their apparatus, they have them placed at The Mt Angel Towers, John F Kennedy High School, in a Mt Angel Police squad car, and now at the Senior Center. Chief Fleck looks after each of these life saving devices; making sure that they are ready to use in an emergency situation.

MAFD encourages anyone who notices a Williams Northwest Pipeline vehicle to give the driver a smile and a wave. Or if you see one of their employees on the streets to stop and thank them for such a wonderful gift. A hand shake and a smile is the least that we can do for them.
