The wildfire is burning in steep, mountainous terrain.Overnight, there was little growth to the fire that is burning mostly on private land. According to InciWeb, there are currently 180 personnel on scene that include hand crews assisted by engines and heavy air support. Today, crews will continue with structure protection and constructing a line on the south side of the blaze. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

There are still 915 personnel assigned to Fourmile Canyon Fire which has areas within the fire perimeter that continue to smolder. According to InciWeb, the fire has burned 6,250 acres and is 87 percent contained.

According to the Boulder County Sheriff's Department, over the next few days, they will use a phased re-entry system to allow residents into the fire area.
