New Phoenix Fire Station Goes Green
The Phoenix Fire Department (PFD) recently opened their newest fire station, Fire Station 72, in northeast Phoenix. Station 72 was built as a state-of-the-art green building while remaining fiscally responsible, according to a news release from PFD. Station 72 was built as a sustainable site using renewable and clean sources of energy, recycled materials and resources, looked out for water efficiency and promoted ways to improve indoor environmental quality, according to fire officials. The fire station, located at 33027 North Cave Creek Road, is being considered for the gold standard in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.
