The Public Information Officer position (PIO) of the Sacramento Fire Department was eliminated as a result of budget cuts to the department.  I have personally enjoyed my short time as your information officer and hope that this valuable position within this organization will one day be reinstated.

Fire family, friends, colleagues, citizens and media, thank you all for the opportunity and experiences you have provided me while occupying the information officer position.

Non-emergency public information and media request should be emailed to sacfirepio@sfd.cityofsacramento.org .  This email address will not be monitored after normal business hours, weekends or holidays.

We will make every attempt to respond as timely as possible however due to staffing all inquiries may not get responses on the same business day.

Immediate media inquiries during emergency incidents will be addressed by the battalion chief and or their designee on scene after the emergency incident priorities have been addressed.
