Pet Oxygen Masks Coming to Clark County Fire Department
The Clark County Fire Department and all area fire departments will receive a donation of 175 pet oxygen mask kits on Wednesday, April 13, 10 a.m., at Fire Station 18, 575. E. Flamingo Road. The kits, which help save dogs and cats rescued from fires, are being donated by Invisible Fence ® Brand of Southern Nevada as part of a national effort called Project Breathe™ to equip fire stations across the United States and Canada. The local donation is one of the largest the company has made since the program started in 2009. Kits are being distributed to fire departments in Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Mesquite and Boulder City. The Clark County Fire Department helped organize the donation. At Wednesday's event, Invisible Fence is bringing a dog so a local veterinarian can demonstrate how the masks work. The cone-shaped masks are reusable and are similar to oxygen masks used to treat humans suffering from smoke inhalation.
