Port City Volunteers Lend Cleaning Skills to Historic Firehouse
The Jeff Morris Fire & Life Safety Foundation and Portland Fire & Rescue have teamed up to bring you a remarkable facility known as the "Safety Learning Center & Fire Museum."  The Safety Learning Center & Fire Museum, located at the Historic Belmont Firehouse at 900 SE 35th Avenue, is not your traditional museum.  Housed in an original Portland fire station, the museum not only offers hands-on fires safety exhibits, but includes displays and stories of the history of fire fighting in Portland.

To help keep the Safety Learning Center & Fire Museum clean and in tip top shape, developmentally disabled folks volunteers from Port City Development Center (Port City) lend their vacuuming, dusting, polishing, and window washing skills.

Since 1978, Port City has been providing employment, job training and support services for people with developmental disabilities in the Portland metro community.

Port City's production, art and farming, job development, community volunteers, fabric arts, silk-screening, woodworking, custodial and other programs provide meaningful work, skills building and community integrations opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
