San Bernardino County and CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Departments Battling Scott Fire in Reche Canyon

The San Bernardino County and CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Departments are battling a wildfire in Reche Canyon on the boarder of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. 

The Scott Fire was reported at 1:35 p.m. according to a CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department news release.  The fire began at Reche Canyon Road near Crystal Ridge, and as of 4:30 p.m. approximately 125 acres had burned.

According to Angie Moebius of CAL FIre San Bernardino Unit, approximately 500 structures are threatened by the fire, but as of 3:15 p.m. no evacuations had been ordered.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department has dispatched nine engines to the fire, and CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department has ten engines on scene.  According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, CAL FIRE has requested helicopters and air tankers to respond as well.  The Colton Fire Department/CAL FIRE San Bernardino Unit also have units and personnel on scene.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Reche Canyon Road has been closed to traffic at Prado Lane to allow firefighters to attack the fire.
