Riverside County Fire Department Golf Tournament Raises $18,775 for Burn Institute

On Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 9:30 a.m., Riverside County Fire Department Deputy Chief Ignacio Otero presented a check to the Burn Institute of the Inland Empire. The presentation was held at the Riverside County Fire Department East Operations Offices, located at 77-933 Las Montanas in Palm Desert (TB 819-E1).

The 13th Annual Riverside County Firefighters Golf Association (RCFGA) golf tournament, held on April 21st, 2011 raised $18,775.29. To date, the RCFGA has raised $169,599.00 for the Burn Institute of the Inland Empire. Sherri Laffey,
Executive Director of the Burn Institute of the Inland Empire accepted the donation check on behalf of the Burn Institute.

Burn injuries can be devastating and leave permanent physical and emotional scarring. Often, burn victims must undergo months and even years of physical and psychological treatment. The RCFGA are committed to provide financial support through fundraising activities to burn victims.
