Rock Fire Burns Near Wildomar
Thursday evening, CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire in the 21300 block of Coral Rock Lane in Wildomar, California, according to Cheri Patterson, a spokeswoman for the department. The fire, named the Rock Fire, has burned 25 acres and is 40 percent contained. The blaze is burning along ridgetops in heavy fuel but firefighters are making excellent progress, according to Patterson. There are 92 firefighters on scene from CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire, CAL FIRE San Bernardino and CAL FIRE San Diego. According to Patterson, one helicopter, eight engines, two water tenders and a dozer are assisting ground crews. The Riverside Sheriff's Office and Riverside County Office of Emergency Services are on scene to assist if the need for evacuations occur but at this time, no evacuations are ordered.
