Monday, April 25, 2011 at approximately 7:25 am a fire broke at the Crestwood Manor psychiatric  facility, located at 2600 Stockton Boulevard.  The fire was contained to one room, due to the activation of the sprinkler system and fast actions of firefighters.  A second alarm fire response was dispatched, bringing over forty firefighters to the scene, to assist with the safe evacuation of more than seventy (70) occupants in the facility.

Within a few hours of the investigation, Sacramento Fire Investigators arrested 56 year old Wendy Vergeson of Sacramento.  Vergeson was an occupant at the facility and has been charged with arson 451(b) and 451(d).  She is being held at the Sacramento County Jail.

Fortunately no citizens or firefighters were injured as a result of this arson.  Fire damages are estimated at three thousand dollars.  Sacramento Fire Department sends this reminder:  Anyone who intentionally sets a fire and is caught will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!!
