Fire Investigators from the Sacramento Fire Department arrested John Azam, 29 year old Sacramento resident.  Azam was charged with 451 (d), which is arson of property, for a fire set on January, 02 2011.  The location of the fire was on the 4000 block of 43 rd Street.  Fortunately Sacramento Firefighters were able to contain this fire to a single bedroom.  Azam was previously arrested on 09/15/05 for arson of an inhabited structure on Omaha court, resulting in an estimated $200,000 loss from fire damages.  Azam is currently being held in the Sacramento County Jail with a bail set at $45,000.

Sacramento Fire Department Investigators take arson very seriously and will take this opportunity to remind everyone that setting a fire is crime that will not be taken lightly.
