Firefighters with the Sacramento Metro Fire Department rescued four-year-old, Jeremy Thomas from his burning apartment Saturday. According to a news release from the department, Jeremy is in Shriners Hospital in Sacramento being treated for, and improving from his injuries. Because of the fire, the Thomas family has lost everything.

Metro Fire has set up a fund for the Thomas family through the Fire Family Foundation to help them with a home and new possessions. A Battalion Chief with the department got the family a hotel for a week and contributions from the Sacramento Area Firefighters Union and the Sac Metro Firefighters Association are helping. According to Metro Fire, the groups hope to raise enough money to have the family back in a home before Jeremy is released from the hospital.
