One person was killed in an early morning house fire in San Bernardino California on February 4, 2011.

San Bernardino City Firefighters were dispatched to 1434 W. Kingman Street in San Bernardino, California just after 5 a.m, according to Captain Tony Paige.  Medic Engine 222 was the first to arrive on the scene, and its crew reported that the 1100 sq. ft. house was fully involved.  The Captain of ME222 reported that a female resident was still inside.

Three additional engines, a ladder company and a Battalion Chief arrived on scene, and firefighters entered the home to attempt to rescue the resident.  They located her body in the living room, and determined that she was deceased.

Fire crews quickly extinguished the blaze.  One other resident, a male, sustained minor injuries and escaped from the fire, according to Paige.

Damages are estimated at $60,000 in property loss and $10,000 in contents.  The fire is the subject of an arson investigation by the San Bernardino City Fire Department Arson Investigators.  Additional information regarding the case has not been released.
