The U.S. Census Bureau and the San Bernardino County Fire Department are partnering together to get everyone counted within San Bernardino County. Based on information received from previous census statistics three fire stations are staged to "Be Counted Sites" where they will have a box of Census Forms available to the public who either did not receive a form in the mail or whose information was not collected on any other form.

Be Counted forms are available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese and Russian from March 22, 2010 until April 1, 2010. These forms can be picked up at the three fire stations listed below and mailed back in the attached postage-paid envelope. Census forms can be picked up Monday through Sunday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. It is important to note that these are working fire stations and the crew may be out on a call when you come by, so just try and be patient – they will return to the station.

It is important that every person be counted in order to get a clear picture of who constitutes the people of San Bernardino County. Federal and State funding to the County and Cities is determined by our population, so the more people counted means more money! The data collected by the census also helps determine the number of seats our State has in the U.S. House of Representatives; it also provides information to determine how more than $400 billion dollars of federal funding each year is spent on infrastructure and services within our communities. The U.S. Census is done throughout the United States and Puerto Rico and is required by the Constitution to take place every 10 years. This year the emphasis is on it being SAFE, EASY, and IMPORTANT!
