Help a Fire Department Get an 'Extreme Makeover
A campaign has begun on Facebook to nominate the Sissonville, West Virginia Volunteer Fire Department for ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Although the station is not a residential house, the station did serve as a 'house' to the community and the department's 40 volunteers, according to the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC). The fire station burned down in less than five minutes on October 1, 2010 due to an electrical fire. According to the NVFC, in addition to the station, the department also lost their first out engine, first out rescue, a tanker, a UTV Search and Rescue Vehicle and more than $300,000 in portable equipment. To show your support for the Sissonville Fire Department log onto http://www.facebook.com/ExtremeMakeoverHomeEdition?v=app_2373072738 and let the producers know they need help from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
