Ted Hall Tractor Project Nearly Complete
Fire Captain Steve Lozano of Fire Station 4 in Rosemead reports that Fire Captain Ted Hall's tractor, a 1985 Massey Ferguson Model 30 E skip loader basket case that Hall intended to restore and use on his and his father's land, is just days away from completion. Lozano has been a family friend and neighbor to Hall for 12 years, and the two completed recruit training together 26 years ago.

Just prior to Hall's tragic death one year ago, he and his dad, retired Battalion Chief Ray Hall, were in the middle of restoring the tractor in addition to several other projects of Ted's. The tractor sat in about 1,000 pieces on Hall's shop floor while he was kept busy by helping neighbors, family and friends with their mechanical projects.

"That's just the way Ted was," says Lozano. Following Hall's tragic death during the Station Fire, his neighbors and friends stepped up by organizing his shop in celebration of Hall's lifetime of work. Lozano and other neighbors took the tractor over to a family friend's home where they have been working on it ever since.
