Investigators believe the fire that roared through a home in the Port Richmond area of Staten Island, New York was allegedly started by the teenage son. Investigators believe C.J. Jones, 14, cut the throats of his sisters Brittany, 10, and Melanie, 7, before setting the fire and talking his own life, according to the New York Daily News.

Leisha Jones, 33, a native of Trinidad, Jamaica also died in the blaze along with her four children which included her youngest son, two-year-old Jermaine, according to WPIX-TV.

Both girls were found with their throats cut and a straight razor was discovered underneath C.J.'s body, according to police. Jones died of smoke inhalation after trying to crawl from the burning apartment. Jermaine also died of smoke inhalation at the hospital, according to the Daily News.

Police say C.J. had recently been thrown out of a public pool for setting a fire, according to NY1. He was also kicked out of summer school classes after starting a fire in a bathroom, according to the paper.

Investigators believe the fire was set just inside the front door of the apartment that did not have working smoke detectors. ##3Autopsies on all five family members are scheduled today, according to NY1.
