Tulsa Firefighters Hold "After the Fire Program" Following Fatal Fire
The Public Education Division of the Tulsa Fire Department held an "After the Fire Program" event in the neighborhood around the scene of a fatality fire that occurred at 5:00pm on November 3, 2011. Public Education Officers and Tulsa Firefighters canvassed the streets in the area to make sure each house had a working smoke detector in their residence. Firefighters provide a smoke detector and even properly installed it in the home. The goal of the program is to not only ensure each household is protected, but to increase the awareness of the public of how important the devices are to the safety of their families. It is often the only warning your family may receive in the event of a fire. We would also like to remind the citizens to change the battery in your smoke detector when you set your clocks back this weekend. Author:Tulsa Fire Department Press Release
